Chief Creative Officer
Toby Talbot is one of advertising’s most well-known and respected creative leaders. He has spent most of his storied career working between Australia and New Zealand, but he has also worked extensively in the UK and Europe. Toby is the ‘second highest ranked creative leader of all time’ in the twenty plus year history of the bestadsontv creative rankings. He has won over 30 Cannes Lions, Grand Prix at Spikes, Clio and One Show and helmed double-digit Agency of the Year titles, working at some of the best network agencies on both sides of the Tasman: Colenso BBDO, Saatchi & Saatchi Auckland and DDB Aotearoa and Sydney. Toby joined Ogilvy a shade under three ago to be its first ever Chief Creative Officer across Australia and New Zealand. The Ogilvy global network is currently the undisputed heavyweight creative champion of the world. Ogilvy is currently Global Creative Network of the Year at Cannes, D&AD, Clio, WARC, LIA and One Show. Toby’s mission has been to lift the creative standard here to the same global Ogilvy standards. To do that has requires a major shift in culture at Ogilvy. Toby introduced borderless creativity to harness the power of one virtual creative department. He installed new creative leadership across ANZ. Ogilvy is the only local network to have three female ECDs across Sydney, Melbourne and Auckland. It shows in the work. Work like the recent AAMI Olympics film (voted one of the world’s favourite ads during the Games) through Matildas #TilItsDone (winner of the Grand Effie at recent the APAC Effies) and KFC Kentucky Fly Chicken to name but a few. Ogilvy currently sits #5 in Campaign Brief’s The Work creative rankings on both sides of the Tasman. Two years ago neither agency was even ranked. Ogilvy Australia enjoyed its best-ever year at AWARD this year taking home multiple pencils. No doubt about it. Ogilvy’s star is rising.
