The Kāhu app is the digital companion for Auckland University students, throughout their journey from student to alumni.
University of Auckland wanted to overhaul the current Kāhu platform design and create an intent and needs driven experience differentiated on desktop and mobile and personalised for the different persona’s/audiences.
We ran a collaborative and agile sprint based process, where we leant on the expertise of the UoA team and conducted working sessions with all stakeholders including internal teams, students, University leaders and the Modo platform team.
After a 10 week process we had successfully defined audience needs and established technical requirements, this enabled us to rearchitect the app user experience to meet student demands and within platform capability. We developed digital design guides that codified the design elements of the new platform and ensured the design scaled for UoA’s needs.
Once all major screens had been designed we worked closely with the development team to bring it to life in it’s new form.
